Oracle © Jais Booth 2011

Past Event: Post-Election Poetry Reading

Friday, November 18, 2016 ~ 7pm ~ Expressions Gallery, 2035 Ashby Ave., Berkeley
Come hear the prophetic voice of poetry and love’s offer for these troubling times.

The poet Cheja says:
An oracle may gift prophecies, wisdom, insight, dreams, enigmas. Prophecies, not predictions; outcomes which are likely if no change is made. Wisdom, not knowledge; wisdom knows the gestalt, the above and below, the layers. Insight, not thoughts; insight is an understanding of the innate nature of things. Dreams, not fantasies; dreams are the language of the soul. Enigmas, not solutions; enigmas are the juice of the soul.

The open mouth. Hear it. The earth may speak. The stone might sing. The Oracle takes many forms, speaks any language, exists in any time. It comes by invitation, love, incantation, silence. The lips of the priestess utters the unheard of. Ask at your own risk. Dream reality. Be opened, guided, warned, inspired.
